Marcy Kaptur Shares My Bank Rage

14 May 2009 2 Comments

Representative Marcy Kaptur (D-Toledo) made the headlines at Politico today for “exploding” on AIG officials.

HOUSE DEMOCRATS AGENDA

Following a hearing of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Wednesday, Kaptur reportedly accused an AIG trustee of sending money to banks that are exploiting her constituents.

“They hire outside people to come in and rape us,” Kaptur said, her voice rising. “It’s outrageous.”

Outrage. I like it!

I’m starting to think of this whole sub-prime lending fleecing/bank bailout as a giant transfer of wealth from poor, working people in Detroit and Cleveland to millionaire traders in Manhattan.

But we’re supposed to feel bad for New York because Gucci is struggling and bars can’t sell $300 bottles of campaign anymore.

More power to you Marcy! The Rust Belt needs more advocates with access to the purse strings, if you ask me.

Apparently this was a double-teaming with Cleveland’s former boy mayor/Oz munchkin-lookalike Dennis Kucinich.

Lookout, Washington. That is a political dream team if there ever was one.

Damn straight, way to go Marcy! She has a bigger pair than most rest of the congress… combined.

I get a little satisfaction, just a little, from the irony banks are crying about the government changing the terms of their credit AFTER they got the money.

Oz/munchkin look alike? Way harsh, dude!
