Donate a Dollar, Help an Unemployed Family in Detroit

Goodwill Industries of Detroit is hosting a campaign designed to put Motor City residents back to work.

The organization is asking employed metro Detroiters to give $1 to help a jobless family. For every $25 collected, Goodwill can provide a day of job training to an unemployed individual.

According to Goodwill:  In just the past two years, we have helped more than 2,500 people find a job and gain independence through employment education, training and support programs in Metro Detroit.

For every 1,000 people Goodwill Industries puts to work, up to $25,000,000 in wages are earned and spent locally each year our workers are on the job.

Times are tough. If you can spare a dollar, consider dedicating it this worthy cause.

Not to be that person, but I think the person in the picture is DetroiT Tigers outfielder Curtis Granderson.
