Military plane crashes in Philippines, 17 killed, 40 rescued

A military plane crashed in the Philippines on Sunday. The plane took off from Cagayan de Oro City with 92 soldiers. C-130 aircraft caught fire in a major accident in which 17 soldiers died. Apart from this, 40 soldiers aboard the aircraft have been rescued.

Army Chief General Sirilito Sobejana said 40 people had been rescued so far from the burning wreckage of the C-130. The accident happened while landing on Jolo Island in Sulu Province. So far the bodies of 17 personnel have been recovered from the wreckage of the aircraft and the rescue operation has been started very quickly.
