Tokyo Olympics: Tokyo Olympics: Grand opening ceremony of the Games will be held today – Tokyo Olympics 20 Indian athletes consented to participate in the Olympic opening ceremony

Amidst the difficult times of Corona, the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics will be held in Japan from today. The opening ceremony will start at 4.30 pm Indian time. A maximum of 22 athletes and six officials will be able to attend the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics. Corona has also had an effect on the Tokyo Games. In view of the situation of Kovid-19, the organizers have asked all the countries to reduce the number of players participating in the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony of Class 9th to 11th Vargotokyo Games will be held in state schools from July 26 at 8 pm local time and 4.30 pm Indian time. The opening ceremony will take place at the Sports Village. In which players and officials from all countries will participate. However, its number has been limited due to Corona. The ceremony will be broadcast live in 204 countries.

The opening ceremony from India will be attended by 20 players and six officials from seven sports. India has to play two matches on 23 July. Deepika Kumari will participate in archery at 5.30 am while Atanu Das, Praveen Jadhav and Tarundeep Rai will play in the men’s archery competition.

Hockey team captain Manpreet Singh is the flag bearer who will take part in the opening ceremony. While veteran boxer MC Mary Kom is also the flag bearer.

Over 125 Indian athletes are expected to participate in the Tokyo Olympics. India’s total strength is 228 people, including players, officials, coaches and other support staff.

Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Batra said that players of sports like archery, judo, badminton, weightlifting, tennis, hockey (men and women) will not take part in shooting as their matches will start from 24th. The March Past will be conducted under Japanese alphabetical order and will be the 21st in India. Both the flag bearers Mary Kom and Mandeep Singh will attend the opening ceremony.
