Tokyo Olympic Opening Ceremony: Tricolor in hand and arrival of Indian team, PM Modi greets standing

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi watched the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics on TV. When the Indian team came, Prime Minister Modi stood up and praised them. The Indian team was led by women’s boxer MC Mary Kom and hockey team captain Manpreet Singh. Both were flag bearers of India.

Prime Minister Modi was watching the inauguration ceremony sitting in his chair but when the Indian team reached the stage, he stood up and applauded.
On the other hand, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Minister of State for Sports Nisith Pramanik witnessed the opening ceremony of the 32nd Olympics at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on Friday. He was accompanied by former players and celebrities from different fields.

The opening ceremony was attended by 22 players and six officials. The team consisted of one hockey player, eight boxers, four table tennis players, two rowing players, one gymnastics and one swimming player, four rowing players and one fencing player.
