India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series with a 38-run win over Sri Lanka in the first T20I. Kumar’s deadly bowling won the first T20I against Sri Lanka by 38 runs in Colombo on Sunday. With this, the Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan has taken a 2-1 lead in the three-match series. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. India scored 164 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs with the help of Suryakumar’s 50 and Dhawan’s 46. In reply, Sri Lanka were bundled out for 126 runs in 18.3 overs. Player of the match Bhuvneshwar Kumar took four wickets in a hurry.
Sri Lanka lost top wickets after a good start
The host Sri Lankan team got off to a good start and set a target of 165 runs. The pair of Avishka Fernando and wicketkeeper-batsman Minod Bhanuka scored 23 runs in just 2.3 overs. However, Krunal Pandya got Bhanuka out to give India a crucial victory. He scored 10 runs.
