India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series with a 38-run win over Sri Lanka in the first T20I. Kumar’s deadly bowling won the first T20I against Sri Lanka by 38 runs in Colombo on Sunday. With this, the Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan has taken a 2-1 lead in the three-match series. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. Sri Lanka lost top wickets after a good start
The host Sri Lankan team got off to a good start and set a target of 165 runs. The pair of Avishka Fernando and wicketkeeper-batsman Minod Bhanuka scored 23 runs in just 2.3 overs. However, Krunal Pandya got Bhanuka out to give India a crucial victory. He scored 10 runs.
India dominated the second half of the IPL starting in the UAE from 19 September, when Sri Lanka lost two consecutive wickets in the first match between Mumbai and Chennai. Later captain Shikhar Dhawan and wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson took over. There was a partnership of 51 runs between this pair. Samson scored 27 runs in 20 balls with the help of two fours and a six.

Suryakumar Yadav’s half-century, Dhawan’s batting
After Samson, Dhawan was accompanied by Suryakumar Yadav. The pair also registered a half-century partnership. Suryakumar and Dhawan added 62 runs for the third wicket. However, unfortunately Dhawan missed out on his half-century by four runs. He scored 46 runs in 36 balls with the help of four fours and a six. Whereas Suryakumar played an innings of 50 runs in 34 balls which included five fours and two sixes.

Ishan Kish scored a goal in the final over. He played an unbeaten innings of 20 runs in 14 balls with the help of one four and one six. Apart from this, Hardik Pandya contributed 10 runs. Dushmantha Chamira and Vanindu Hasaranga took two wickets each for Sri Lanka. While Chamika Karunaratne got a breakthrough.
