Batting first after winning the toss, India scored 132 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka won the match by 133 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 19.4 overs. SLvIND T20: Krunal Pandya Koro’s change changed the team, the 4-player debut team lost its first wicket at 12 and by the time the score reached 66, its four batsmen had accumulated the pavilion. Earlier, India won the toss and decided to bat first. Debut openers Rituraj Gaikwad and Shikhar Dhawan gave the team an aggressive start. The pair shared a partnership of 49 runs in 7 overs. Gaikwad was dismissed after scoring 21 runs in 18 balls. Devdutt Padikkal and Dhawan then took runs.
