In the rankings of top-10 bowlers in Tests, Bumrah, Kohli are at the fifth position with a loss of one place. Bumrah took nine wickets for 110 runs in the first Test against England. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has moved up to the top-10 in the Test rankings after scoring 64 in the first innings and 109 in the second innings in the first Test against England. However, captain Virat Kohli has suffered a loss and has slipped to the fifth position.
Bumrah reached a career-best third position in 2019. He took nine wickets for 110 runs in the Nottingham Test. With the help of which he has gained 10 places in the ranking of bowlers in Tests to reach ninth place.
‘Don’t leave us to die’, Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan’s appeal to world leaders has hurt Kohli in the batsman rankings. Kohli, who was dismissed for zero in the first innings of the first Test, has slipped a notch to fifth. England captain Joe Root has been included in place of Kohli at number four. Root played 64 innings in the first innings and 109 in the second innings.
Opener Rohit Sharma and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant are in sixth and seventh position respectively. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has gained three places to be at 36th position in the rankings for batsmen. He scored a fifty in the first innings. Opener Lokesh Rahul has also reached the 56th position.
Jadeja’s place in the Test all-rounder rankings has also improved, England’s new ‘step’ for the Lord’s Test. He is at the second position while Ravichandran Ashwin is at the fourth position. In the bowlers’ ranking, Ashwin is second while Australia’s Pat Cummins is at the top. England’s James Anderson is seventh and Stuart Broad is eighth.
