In the third test match played in Leeds, the Indian team lost against England by an innings. On the third day of the match, Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli made a comeback and raised hopes. But on the fourth day of Ollie Robbins’ shock, India were dismissed in the first session on Saturday. Virat Kohli’s team lost by an innings and 76 runs. With this, England has leveled the five-match series 1-1.
By the end of the third day on Friday, India had scored 215 for two. Cheteshwar Pujara (91) and Virat Kohli (46) were in the game. However, at the start of the fourth day’s play on Saturday, Pujara took the pavilion without adding a single run to his second day’s score. He hit 15 fours in his innings of 189 balls.
Captain Kohli managed to complete his half-century. But after scoring a half-century, he could not stay at the crease for long. He scored 55 runs in 125 balls with the help of 8 fours. The middle-order and lower-order batsmen later fell on their knees against the England bowlers and the team suffered a car defeat.
Upsuka’s Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant were hoping after Pujara and Kohli’s fight was over. However, both these batsmen were once again disappointed. Rahane was dismissed for 10 while wicket-keeper batsman Pant could only manage one run. Mohammed Shami scored six runs and took the pavilion.
