Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: Rory McIlroy is the favorite to bet on heading into this week’s event.
The Irishman, fresh off of his FedEx Cup victory, is the favorite across multiple sportsbooks to win this week’s BMW PGA Championship — which is a DP World Tour event and not a PGA Tour event — and is currently listed at +600 on DraftKings to win the event. He is also the overwhelming -125 favorite to place in the top 10 at Wentworth Club this weekend.
Jon Rahm is the next favorite in the latest BMW PGA Championship odds, listed at +850 to win the event, +200 to place in the top 5, and +100 to place in the top 10. European Tour leader Matthew Fitzpatrick checks in at +1100 odds to win the event, while McIlroy’s fellow countryman Shane Lowry is listed at +1400.
Both McIlroy and Rahm have made headlines over the past two days leading up to the event, although that has been less for their golf prowess and more for the harsh words they have for LIV Golfers who got onto the playing field over European players McIlroy and Rahm believe are more deserving.
The BMW PGA Championship tees off Thursday from Surrey, England.
