Shortly after noon the attacker attacked in front of a house in the Jauhar Town area of Lahore, Pakistan. At least two people were killed and 15 others were injured in the blast. Notorious terrorist Hafiz Saeed lived in the area. On receiving information about the blast, the bomb disposal team along with the rescue team reached the spot.
Hafeez’s house is in the area where the blast took place and agencies are yet to confirm whether the blast was targeted at Hafeez’s house. Some reports are claiming that Hafiz Saeed is currently in jail.
According to eyewitnesses, the blast was so strong that the windows of nearby houses and buildings were shattered. A building was badly damaged and several vehicles parked at the blast site were also damaged. According to rescue officials, 17 people were injured in the blast and were taken to Jinnah Hospital in private vehicles and rickshaws.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has sought a detailed report on the blast from a police officer. The CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced in which the explosion is visible from inside the road. It is learned that a gas pipeline has been installed under the road. But it was not immediately clear whether bombs were used in the pipeline.
