India’s medal hopes at the Tokyo Olympics have suffered another setback. Historic discus thrower Kamalpreet Kaur has failed to win a medal in Tokyo. Kamalpreet Kaur finished sixth in the discus throw final on Monday.

Kamalpreet was participating in the Olympics for the first time and she has already shown her skills in the Olympics. Kamalpreet is yet to play for India in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

Only two Asian female athletes qualified for the women’s discus throw final at the Tokyo Olympics. One was Kamalpreet Kaur and the other was Chen Yang of China who finished 10th.

In the women’s discus throw, the gold medal went to Valari Allman of the United States. He won the gold medal with a distance of 68.98 metres. Germany’s Kristin Pudenz took the silver with a time of 66.86m and Yami Perez of Cuba took the bronze with a time of 65.72m.
