Suhas LY, District Collector of Gautam Buddh Nagar near Delhi, unfurled the country’s tricolor in Paralympics amidst all government responsibilities, a new story in India’s sports culture. With so much responsibility on his head, Suhas LY was going to practice at the Tokyo Paralympics at night.

DM Suhas was preparing with LY national badminton player Aditya Verma before leaving for the Tokyo Paralympics. Aditya Verma is doing BA Honors from DU and playing from UP. Aditya said that he started playing practice matches in May 2020 instead of DM. He was practicing at night at the Noida Stadium. Sometimes it was even at one o’clock in the night. He was playing a practice match with Suhas LY under the supervision of Indonesian badminton coach Duthari Gigi Belatma. During the current practice, if there was a call for any government work, Suhas used to give guidance from there.

Pullela Gopichand from Greater Noida started attending the badminton court two months before the Tokyo Paralympics. “The court of Pullela Gopichand is huge,” said Aditya. CM Yogi Adityanath congratulated Suhas and said, “I wish him all the best.” Even before this he has won many medals. The great thing is that he has achieved great success in Paralympics along with fulfilling his job responsibilities.
