Jesse Williams is reacting to Ellen Pompeo‘s reduced role in the upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy.
Earlier this month, it was announced that the 52-year-old actress will only be appearing in eight episodes of the hit ABC show’s upcoming 19th season.
In a new interview, Jesse, 41, voice his support for Ellen taking some time off from Grey’s.

“That woman has worked so hard all year, every year for 20 years for that franchise,” Jesse shared with E! News’ Daily Pop. “Whatever time she takes off is well-earned, and I’m sure they have a master plan.”
Ellen‘s reduced role on Grey’s comes at the same time it was announced that she will be starring in and executive producing a new limited series on Hulu.
