Udonis Haslem is returning to the Miami Heat for his 20th season.
Over the weekend, the veteran power forward announced his return by citing a conversation he had with his late father, Johnnie. “I have decided to follow through with what me and my father had talked about and I will finish what I started and I will play this year, because I talked about that with my father.” Haslem will join former Heat teammate LeBron James in the 20-season club but with all of his games coming with the same franchise. Making the eventual transition from player to coach seems like the natural course of action for Haslem once he does decide to hang ’em up, but for now, the oldest active player in the NBA will continue on as an unofficial player-coach for at least one more season.
