Wordle #441 Clues, Hints and Answer for Saturday, September 3 Puzzle

[ad_1]

Wordle has exploded in popularity since being released to the public in October 2021.

Players are tasked with guessing a five-letter word in six attempts or less.

After a guess each letter is marked either green, yellow or grey. Green means it is correct and in the right position, yellow shows the letter is in the word but in the wrong place and gray indicates it is not part of the answer at all.

Wordle was created by Josh Wardle, a New York based software engineer originally from the U.K., and its title is as a play on his name.

Speaking to Newsweek in early January, Wardle said his aim was to create a game his partner would enjoy playing.

He explained: “In the case of Wordle, I was creating an experience for my partner. My goal was never to generate income and it just grew organically.

“That’s why it’s not monetized, even though it is very easy to imagine how that could look. I’m fortunate enough to be in a position where I can afford to not charge for Wordle. The hosting costs aren’t that much, so I don’t need to recover any expenditure.”

Wardle sold Wordle to the New York Times later that month for an undisclosed seven figure sum, though it remains free to play.

Wordle has also inspired a range of other online puzzles including Quordle, Dordle, Worldle and the math based Nerdle.
